The Chaplaincy at Montgomery County Correctional Facility is given the responsibility to supply the religious needs of the inmate community.This task is accomplished by any one the following:
1. Supplying a non denominational, non sectarian chapel in which inmates can worship.
2. The religious programming will be scheduled by the chaplain that is supplied by religious volunteers who are trained and oriented to minister in a prison environment. Currently there are over forty different religious activities that take place in the facility every week.
3. Religious counseling is offered by the chaplain or arrangements can be made for outside clergy to visit the inmate.
4. The chaplain also has a lending library of religious books which are donated to the facility and made available to the inmate population.
REQUIREMENTS FOR RELIGIOUS VOLUNTEERS
1.A volunteer must be approved by the Coordinator of the Faith group they wish to represent.
2.Once approved by their Faith group a volunteer must submit to a background Investigation.
3.Upon passing the criminal background check the volunteer will complete a volunteer orientation class at the facility.
4.Last the volunteer will be assigned to a scheduled activity in the
